A lot of people wonder what the crew at Northridge 4×4 does in their off time, well to be to the point we wheel!  Our Marketing Director Malo Castro got the call from a family member stating he had gotten his Toyota FJ stuck while hiking the night before and wondered if Malo knew some people that would be able to help him get the FJ out, Malo was like pffft we got this Bruh.  He made a quick call to Eric Johnson our Sales Lead and Shop Manager and he rounded up a crew of able Jeeps and bodies and the rescue was on!

Once they made the short drive up I-90 to Talapas Lake exit the boys aired down under the overpass to make the run into the FJ.  Once they started down the trail they quickly realized the snow was THREE FEET DEEP and under normal circumstances this would be a problem but anyone that knows Eric Johnson knows that this just put a grin on his face and he mumbled #becauseracecar under his breath and the three miles into the Fj was covered in no time.

Once they crew got to the Fj and got it dug out the fun was on and they took turns busting the three foot drifts and stretching the legs on the JK’s.  Winter wheeling is always a good time and Malo and Eric’s families took advantage to do a little sledding while the big kids (Eric, Malo, Maxx) looked for my drifts to bust and general trouble to be found.

The crew almost had to rescue Eric as he became a little high centered and who would have guessed that as he is so tall!

Once again we want to make sure everyone knows we ARE true enthusiasts and we do use our Jeeps and we strive to understand and have the knowledge you need when you call to ask advice or purchase parts from us here at Northridge 4×4.  We love what we do and it shows.  If you haven’t had a chance to wheel with us give us a call about your next run or meet up with us out on the Trail sometime, we love to talk shop and we love to wheel even more!

What happens when a customer with a bone stock JK calls us here at Northridge 4×4, well lets just say the transformation is awesome!

Terry Brewer recently called us here at Northridge 4×4 to discuss the possibility of building a kick ass JK for him.  Maxx and Terry went over all the build options and they concluded that the Overlanding Style fit his needs to a tee.  Terry made his Jeep purchase here locally and had it delivered to the shop where the transformation began.

First off the AEV 3.5″ Dualsport suspension was installed to give it that stance Terry was looking for but the drivability he needs as this is his daily driver.  Once that was complete Terry decided he like the AEV products so well he went with their Heat Reduction Hood for those long road trips during the summer months.  It was decided to go with the AEV Premium front bumper and their rear bumper with the tire carrier and water water tank.  Once the bumpers were on the build was coming together, with the addition of the AEV skid plates and splash guards the exterior was starting to look like Terry’s dream.  With the rugged capabilities of this build it was determined Terry was going to need a winch so he went with the WARN Zeon with synthetic rope.

No build would be complete without some addition lighting power so Maxx suggested the new ARB Intensity lights for driving through the dark desert nights or the foggy winter conditions that Terry deals with in South Dakota.

To take care of the lights and lockers the SPOD was added to ensure the wiring never became an issue.  You can’t be caught in the backcountry without a way to communicate either so we installed the COBRA 40 Channel CB to give Terry peace of mind while wheeling.

With the build about complete it was decided to add to add a pair of LOD frame mount rock sliders to keep this JK protected while on the trails.  With the majority of the build being AEV why not go with the AEV Pintler Wheel and wrap some of the new BFG All Terrains around them!

Northridge 4×4 is not just an online shop and this build proves that, we can build a Jeep JK to your specs at anytime.  Don’t forget about us when your building your dream rig, our crew is standing buy to make you dream a reality.
